It's weird. It's wacky. It's Ziggy 2000’s wonderful winter show with friends!
Introducing Bristol’s very own candy princess. Fresh on the scene, Ziggy nods to the grit and gaudiness of 2000s indie sleaze, whilst using her hushed fairy tones and whimsical style to make a new world that is entirely her own.
Think: The Cardigans, beabadoobee, yeule, Björk and Sleigh Bells (with a lot of blush). This will be an intimate yet utterly ethereal gig; a band covered in ribbons, sweeping four-part harmonies and a violin, all set within the hauntingly beautiful grandeur of an abandoned church. Expect melodramatic pop ballads with scathing lyrics, or the spirit of riot grrrl dressed up in lullaby.
Bringing together one of the most unique musicians within Bristol, in a setting as ethereal as The Mount Without, this evening is set to be one sweet treat. Expect maximalist girltopia; ribbons, sparkles, mayyyyybe some tears and definitely some giggles.
With support from Harmer Jays and Dogsbody.
- Harmer Jays: 'rich instrumentation, distinctive stylistic choices, and soaring vocals [crafting] a contemplative and intensively concentrated sonic flow' - FFO James Blake/FKA Twigs/Bon Iver
- Dogsbody: '[blending] the current vogue of alternative rock with jazz and folk... Jones' haunting vocal delivery has often been likened to Hope Sandoval in its softer moments and Amy Winehouse in its more powerful moments. - FFO Mazzy Star/Elliott Smith/Radiohead
